Tricky word facilitates e-invoicing

Businesses in Europe should have an easier time benefiting from supply chain automation and digital invoices. Evenex are working actively toward the EU objectives in a newly formed organization focused on interoperability

It may be hard to avoid stumbling over the syllables of this less than straightforward term. But interoperability, i.e. the ability of systems to communicate smoothly with each other, will be a key word worth mastering to achieve success in the future of e-invoicing.

Non-profit organization
Through e-invoicing, businesses can replace paper invoices with digital transactions, cutting costs, payment times, and CO2 emissions while improving on transparency and cash flow.

These are the advantages that Evenex and 36 other international suppliers of digital solutions emphasize the most in the newly formed non-profit organization, European E-Invoicing Service Provider Association (EESPA).

Clear guidelines
The opportunities in digital trade are growing year by year. As the needs for optimization and cost reduction increase, the technical possibilities become more plentiful. This adds to the demand for interoperability.

That is why Evenex together with the other members of EESPA are defining clear guidelines for technical documents and communication channels within the framework of the so-called PEPPOL collaboration under the EU. This creates the interoperability needed to make it easier and faster for the individual organizations to get going with digital exchange of e-invoices and other data and documents in the procurement process.

The European trade organization EESPA held its founding meeting on December 13th and initiated their work on enhancing digital invoicing in Europe.
